As we approach Easter week here is The Last Supper by Nick Evans from 1981. A rarity in Nick's output with it being a non mining painting.
Maurice Wade is of course best known for his Industrial Landscapes & he seldomly produced works of other subject matters therefore this drawing, Family at Christmas Dinner from circa 1958 is a rare find. Note the 4 different chairs being used by the guests.
Due to circumstance beyond our control our Maurice Wade Exhibition of #AndyMcCluskeys paintings has been put back 1 month & now opens on 25th Mar 2022. The accompanying book is still due for mid Feb 22 release & can be pre-ordered here https://t.co/eJxr86GXTI as can the LE Boxset

The paintings of Nick Evans have caused quite a stir in the gallery. Our good friend @Mikecainartist was almost lost for words at the brilliance of paintings & disbelieving that Evans had no formal training of any kind - these astonishing paintings just tumbled out of him
We are delighted to have acquired a number of paintings by the late Welsh artist, Nick Evans. Anyone who has followed this A/C over the years will know how highly we rate Nick's paintings. Each is an outporing of hardship, often sorrow & genuine affinity with working miners.
