It wasn't the first time Disney took inspiration from Indiana Jones (and its logo) although, to be fair, the latter also took inspiration from Carl Barks' comics (The seven cities of Cibola for exemple)
Cover art created by Hiroyuki Kitakubo / 北久保 弘之 (director on Roujin Z, Blood: the last vampire) for the first issues of BugBug, a successor to Technopolis focused on computer games before covering only erotic games.
A possible inspiration for Sean from Street Fighters III: Ryota Miyagi from Slam Dunk. Two basketball players and a rather similar look.
The artworks created by Nona (@nonacube) for TMNT X Justice League (@TMNT_TF) and commissionned by @aywhatsgoingon.

Summer 1988, Arshes Nei makes his first appearance in Bastard!
A few months later comes Phantasy Star II with Nei, a female character who, in addition to her name, has the same long ears.
Currently watching Congo (1995) and wondering if the developers of Metal Slug 2 and its sequels have seen this movie.
According to KOF 94 art director Mitsuo Kodama, Yuki Kushinada (Kyo's girlfriend in The king of fighters séries and one of the few hidden characters from SNK Gals Fighters) also was based on Yuki Uchida.

Genshiken (2002), the manga that makes a reference to Waku Waku 7 on the cover of its first volume.
The boss from the 4th level of Metal Slug 2 / X is a reference to Uchū Senkan Yamato / Space Battleship Yamato (1974) whose eponymous spaceship was itself inspired by the Yamato, a battleship built a few years before the beginning of World War II.
