@tenorthetoonguy @trevdiggitydawg Really love how "Tex Avery" these wild takes are.
@FuwwyTwash @TheRegyman It's going to be in the same vein as the source material. Plus, they're sticking to the original designs and the plan is to have the animation be stylized and cartoony.
@Cellspex Yeah, this has been out for quite awhile. According to the director they're currently prepping a trailer.
If you're curious as to what they're going for these storyboards/concept art should help. Framestore (Paddington, Detctive Pikachu) will be providing the animation.
I've seen some say that they wished the Sonic movie was weirder rather than being a generic "fish out of water" story.
I see it like this: do a standard story that's semi-wierd and do it well. THEN you'll be able to ease general audiences into something MORE weird in a sequel.
Some wonderful Tom centric storyboards by Brian McKissick for next year's Tom and Jerry live action/animation hybrid movie.

Klaus, Green Eggs and Ham, and Looney Tunes Cartoons are all going to be 2019's high budget, mainstream, and traditionally animated productions that utilize and maybe even reinvent hand drawn animation using today's digital technology.
And all of them are EXTREMELY promising.
This UK commerical encompasses what the LIve Action/CGI Tom and Jerry movie sounds like it'll be and what I'm hoping it'll be. Pretty much this, but with a CG Tom and Jerry that hopefully look appealing and actual live action destruction in the vein of Home Alone or Mouse Hunt.
Anyone remember when Gary K. Wolf, the creator of Roger Rabbit, pitched an animated remake of the 1952 Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis film "The Stooge" starring Mickey Mouse and Roger Rabbit to Disney? I LOVED the concept when I heard it about it. Sad it never was greenlit.
