This handy spread shows all the GS variants for the UK market at a glance. By 1978 the sporty GS X2 had disappeared, and the base air-cooled engine in the GSpecial had been upped to 1130cc, with other variants including the Pallas having the 1222cc unit.

Much less well-known globally that the DDR's Trabant, FSO made the two-stroke Syrena saloon in Poland from the late 1950s. Intended for the Polish home market, this leaflet features the 1963 Syrena 103 with 744cc engine. Later made by FSM, the Syrena design would last until 1983.
Later the engineers at Zwickau would develop the DDR's first indigenous small car, the AWZ P70. A stepping stone towards the Trabant, it pioneered the 'duroplast' body.
#NewHeaderPic One of the rarest products of the Rootes Group was this 4-seat Sunbeam Venezia Superleggera. Designed and built by Touring in Italy, it looked like a scaled-up Alpine, and was based on the 1592cc Humber Sceptre. Only around 200 were made in 1963 and 1964.
