The meaning of 'round' is a little hard to draw from this kanji as it stands, so I added the ancient form, though it's still ちょっとむずかしい (a bit difficult).

It feels like most of the last several kanji have all been comparative - 多 many, 少 few, 半 half, 太 thick, and now 細 thin.

It differs from 大, big, by one stroke. As far as I can tell, this primarily refers to 'weight' as opposed to simply being big.
