@JRTomlinAuthor @Strak1314 Tale goes that three Home horseman carried his body from Flodden & hid it in a side passage of the Castle well at Hume. The body of a hacked Scots Noble was taken to England & claimed to be James IV.

Kildrummy Castle watercolour. In 1306 The Bruce's Wife, Elizabeth, his Sister (Mary) & Isabella MacDuff were among the party that escaped from English siege but were captured later at Tain. Mary was put in a cage at Roxburgh Castle & Isabella in a cage at South Berwick Castle.

In 1378 Squire Ramsay of Dalhousie took Berwick Castle by surprise with a small force. The English fled & an army of 10,000 was sent to recover Castle. Douglases tried to reach Berwick but were out numbered. This led to battle of Melrose where English pursuit force was defeated
Great Bascinet from 1430 and overlap of modern replica. One of my favourites as its like the bascinet of the Wolf of Badenoch who is famous for burning Elgin Cathedral in 1390. He also played chess with the Devil before he died during a thunderstorm at Ruthven Castle in 1405.

Battle of Inverlochy Castle in 1431 the MacDonald family against Earl of Mar & Earl of Atholl, supporters of King James I of Scots (1406-1437). It was unclear who had won (MacDonalds won). Earl of Mar fled without a horse and bare foot back to his Castle of Kildrummy.
