Battle of Nesbit Moor/Nisbet Muir 1355. Ramsay of Dalhousie Castle draws Lord Dacre & Lord Grey from Norham Castle into a trap. John Halyburton of Dirleton Castle killed in the Scots charge but English defeated with Dacre & Grey held for ransom.

Man at Arms talk at Dirleton castle in 2017 covering strange weapons designs of Sword Master, Hans Talhoffer from 1459 of gatehouse ankle cutter, diving suit design and weaponised buckler.

In 1406 King Robert III died at Rothesay Castle on hearing his Son & Heir James I had been captured by English Pirates off Flambrough Head while fleeing the Bass Rock heading for safety in France away from rebel Scots Lords who had already attacked his Royal escort army .

Before working at Tantallon Castle in 1981 and being mad about Castles and medieval armour. I was mad on the TV shows of Doctor Who, Space 1999 and the weekly comic of 2000A.D with Judge Dredd. Some of my comic story drawings from 1979 and Dalek comic idea from 2006.

King James IV of Scots killed at Flodden in 1513. Local legend claims three Home horsemen carried his body to Hume Castle and hid it in a cave there so as not to be taken as a prize. (Watercolours from 1980's)

At the battle of Poitiers 1356 William Douglas & Archibald Douglas fought for the French King John 'The Good'. Scots/French force was defeated. King John was captured. So too was Archibald but he looked like a 'Cooks Boy' in his Masters armour & was thrown out the English camp.

In 1388 Hotspur Percy was unhorsed at Newcastle & his banner stolen by Douglas. Hotspur attacked Scots camp to recover banner. Douglas was deliberately stabbed by his own armour bearer in the confusion. Hotspur was captured & his ransom monies used to rebuild Ardrossan Castle.

Sorry don't know. But it has the basic outline of Roxburgh and site Plan but far grander than I would have imagined with its extra towers. Its like a Roxburgh 2.1 upgrade.

Loch Doon Castle Canmore image & watercolour reconstruction. Sir Christopher Seton was captured here in 1306. After defeat of King Robert The Bruce's army at the battle of Methven. Seton was taken to Dumfries to be hung, draw & quartered.
