Oh yeah I guess I could post some closeups. I feel like I'm finally understanding how to design my brush strokes for the first time in the last year or so.

@Ikuorai Sorta, I did this one a million years ago

I basically paint the black separately as its own layer with another layer for lit areas underneath. Its deceptively simple but I think yields an interesting result and really helps control values. Last step is to do a little paint over with the mixer brush to bring it together.

Something I struggle with in my work is the need to go crazy rendered and tight everywhere(despite the fact that I hate rendering). Thats one thing I tried to focus on avoiding in this exercise, to try and carry more sketch energy to final.

Fatalis is a perfect design. I love him.

Man this really blew up overnight. I have also had more of my art stolen as nfts overnight. It used to be a few per week but now it can be many per day. Something has to be done.
