i plan to make a thread about this to go more in depth at a later date, but i believe this conversation with kisuke began slowly turning the cogs in ichigos brain that he couldnt always keep orihime out of fights, and doing so might even make things more dangerous.

i like how this scene with tatsuki mirrors when orihime asked him what happened to rukia because theres such a grave difference in tone and where ichigo is in his character arc.

ichigo really said “screw the world, saving it doesnt mean anything if shes not in it.”

ichigo almost looks like hes scowling in his sleep when orihimes saying goodbye, and then he mentions having had a dream which in non-viz translation, he calls a nightmare. either way, he seemed to have noticed orihime leaving his world.

orihime being a dork and apologizing for coming in through his window unannounced/uninvited even though she knows no one can hear or see her

when hiyori kidnaps orihime in the middle of her chat with rukia, rukia goes after her and follows the feeling of ichigos spiritual pressure because she knew intuitively she would be wherever he is.

even with the weight of the world on his shoulders, ichigo will always tell orihime things will be alright & he’ll take care of it. orihime recognizes the strength it takes to face things head on like that, but still worries for him so she has to get strong too & be there for him
