Process breakdown for 'Monumental Facade', in the MTG Phyrexia All is One set. 1) Rough sketches submitted to AD, 2) initial work in progress, 3) refinements/adjustments via prelim drawing 4) the final.
In honor of Colossal Cave's re-release from @cygnusent_ , I illustrated the most vivid scene within that legendary ur-game! For those who don't know, it's generally considered a forebearer of the adventure and CRPG genres.
While I'm waiting on another Phyrexia card to drop, here's one where I got to (sort of) immortalize my wife and kid on a MTG card! 'Guess Your Fate' for MTG: Unfinity.
@syqkos Happy birthday! I'll share a few older pieces that still make me very happy. Hope you have a lovely day. 🥳
Hi #portfolioday, I'm Bruce, a landscape illustrator best known for my work on MTG, D&D, Witcher, Numenera, Slay the Spire, etc. I'm always open to new projects! You can find me at...
Sometimes feels like society is so character-focused that the narrative in landscape art gets overlooked... BUT if anything the biggest missed opportunity in illustration may actually be the 'humble' still life. I haven't any recent examples , but if you do, share them!
@SHelmigh A lot of people seem ready to relinquish landscapes to the AI. But landscapes have stories to tell, too, in both subtle and blatant choices that most people don't know to make, much less a machine.
The 'Silksteel Jungles' are not to everyone's taste, of course... given the robot spiders and all.
Happy new year! Here's to exploring new explorations and hopefully better (or at least warmer) times ahead!
