@ndchristie @Helm_ll @FrankenGraphics that's one solution. another is to just weight the problems against each other, and decide to just do whatever you like and keep the detail or that one single pixel or tangent that solves a lot of shape /curve problems even if it introduces banding

very few instances of banding, some are even too minor to fix. The sword hilt is the most egregious.

You can think of most pixelart with outlines as 1-bit art with added color :) Very easy to see in old ZX spectrum pixelart.
