Drawing pretty bonkers stuff today for Doodleville 2! I hope @dinovisms lets me get away with this stuff....
Today I started final art for DOODLEVILLE #2!!! All the uncertainty and anxiety you see in Drew's face has been reflected in my own journey with this book. But with the help of early readers and my editor @dinovisms, I've shaped this into a BONKERS story I can't wait to share!
This is Dinah Dare, inventor extraordinaire! She's the sci-fi space explorer of DOODLEVILLE, drawn by a girl named Beck! She gets lots of cool gadgets and weaponry in the book! 🤓 Pre-order DOODLEVILLE at https://t.co/laNQpMnBkP! @RHKidsGraphic @randomhousekids @KnopfBFYR
Meet CAPTAIN COCKATOO! He's a character in DOODLEVILLE drawn by a boy named Ameer. I *love* superheroes based on whimsical animals, can you tell? DOODLEVILLE is out June 9th, and you can still pre-order it here! https://t.co/laNQpMnBkP @RHKidsGraphic @randomhousekids @KnopfBFYR
Drawing an emotional scene with the Robot today and thinking about one of my favorite panels from The Cardboard Kingdom as Connie eats a sandwich and daydreams about destruction. 🤖❤️😇
Whipping out some fun halftones for a scene written by @JustPlainTweets today!! The Cardboard Kingdom: Roar of the Beast is going to be a whole *lot*, y'all. @TheCardboardK
I drew a very *pink* scene today for The Cardboard Kingdom: Roar of the Beast, and I can't waaaaaaait for readers to see it in (checks calendar) a year and a half. @TheCardboardK
My husband is deeply amused by the fact that it finally rains for the first time in @TheCardboardK's sequel, Roar of the Beast. He has suggested that once it starts, the characters should say, "Wow, this is the first time that it has ever rained here!"
