Let's (finally) read...
"My Happy Marriage" volume 1 -- a light novel by Akumi Agitogi
with amazing cover art by Tsukiho Tsukioka (though no further illustrations in the book, sadly)
Finished reading Kiki's Delivery Service, aka "Majo no Takkyuubin" (Witch's Express Home Delivery), the first of eight(?) books in a series, though just the first one's been translated into English. It was published in 1985, written by Eiko Kadono. The Ghibli film was 1989.
From the looks of things, it seems to be a square-shaped book, and illustrations are featured among the text. So a pretty fancy release, as much for just looking at as for reading.
@laurbits I actually thought more than once things might pivot in this direction, ha ha
(But that might just be me wishing for more twists when it comes to romcom pairings in general)
The episode ends with the question: would you prefer to live in a fake but paradisaical existence, or in actual, true reality — despite all its pains and misfortunes?
