Portraits of his parents, Elizabeth Mason and Dr Robert Emmet, are displayed in our historic Penrose Rooms (Floor 1) which overlook the appropriately named Emmet Place.
These exceptional portraits were bequeathed to us in 1980 by H.L.R. Emmet.

Irish revolutionary Robert Emmet was executed at Thomas Street, Dublin #onthisday in 1803.
His impromptu 'Speech from the Dock' was soon celebrated and, along with his likeness, proliferated in support of Irish Republicanism.

Dundanion, View from the West (1860) by Susanna Adelaide Deane depicts the rustic, informal gardens that surrounded the artist’s family home in the #Cork suburb of Blackrock.
