It is said that Xiwangmu is accompanied by a collection of supernatural creatures in her garden in the mythical Kunlun mountains. Two of special note are the magical 9-tailed fox & a 3-legged crow. The garden is where she grows her peaches of immortality.

Xiwangmu is also associated with the moon & is often shown in art alongside the moon rabbit pounding the elixir of immortality in a mortar & pestle, & also a dancing frog or toad, which alludes to the myth of Chang-e, the moon goddess.

Vietnamese woodblock folk prints often feature historical figures, social commentaries and popular folktales. This print depicts the wedding march of a rat couple and their guests, all nervously hoping the big cat will leave them alone.
