The skeleton #pixelart piece has been coming along nicely and I think I am gonna drop it here on Tuesday.
The final piece will have around 228.000 pixels. It has been fun to make a huge thing.
TO get excited, have a lil' teaser until then ;)
#PortfolioDay
My name is Thomas and I've been working on over 20 pixelart games.
Currently I am doing a speedpaint every weekend and learning programming.
Streaming a quick speedpixelart. I Think I will do some fantasy thingie, maybe a bit more inspired by Klimt/Schiele, will see how it goes.

The final step would include breaking up the monotony of the texturework and adding some playful lighting which makes specific parts look more interesting. Also I increased details in shadowy areas and fixed minor details.

This main detailling step encompassed most of the work in terms of pure working hours.
I completely detail the foliage and balanced colors slightly as I went ahead.

Another very important part was to get the ground transition right, as the ground texture could differ, a solution which looks good on its own, but works with a lot of different ground textures was necessary. Also I tested with a texture for the leaves

Next up I detailled the trunk, as this is the part which has the highest chance of being visible in the game, I started to add a lot of fine details there
