To more than measures up with Cass in the story showcasing all the visualizes that we love about the character in the expressions and movement. It's all there on each page/panel.

-- and the collar area of her cape section has that "Vampire Hunter Cass" look to it (and he continued off in the second pic too). Not to mention, he draws Cass differently than he has in the past. Sort of like the pic on the right, but with MUCH longer hair.

To that extent, the story does lean toward that near the end with Bruce taking her to the mini-golf course after tending to her wounds. And it just feels weird for Shiva to be pouring her heart out to Bruce of all people.

Shiva is her own being, and I just don't like that she's just this prop. Not so when well. You have Batman & the Outsiders opening "the forbidden" door.

But we get the crux of why Shiva wants to die. She feels she has nothing. Which I don't get. She has Sofia as a student. Not to mention...

I feel like a better story could have been told here. That instead of death, it would be Shiva coming to Bruce saying how does he deal with his firecrackers of a kid. To channel that rage. It could be a flip of inversion to set up what comes later. Still, what we have is cute.

#13 opens with the two already locked in combat, and not soon after we get a flashback of Dick confronting Cass when she's trying to recruit the Riddler (he was a hero detective during this time period).

We come full circle again back to Gotham Knights #42-50 where we get numerous Dick/Cass moments sprinkled in. Being the older brother to the younger sibling pair that is Tim/Cass.
