Released in 1991 Profezia is an Amiga / MS-DOS semitextual sort of visual novel/adventure taking place in Middle Age Italy. Profezia was Trecision's first game, they would be known in later years for their point and clicks like Nightlong, The Watchmaker and Ark of Time.
Masaru was a shoot em up in the works at Italian studio Imaginaction, from 1998 onwards, went through several changes but was never released.
Three different characters would unite to form a big robot (in a Daitarn/Gundam style) and fight the enemies. An alpha demo was completed.
Sinless was an open world action/adventure in development by Italian studio Imaginaction in 1997.
Despite the best intentions, the game was too ambitious for a studio made up - for the most part - by developers with little to no experience.
Imaginaction never released anything.
Black Ice White Noise was a Neuromancer cyberpunk open world title for Atari Jaguar in development in 96. At one point, Nine Inch Nails were on board for the soundtrack. The inexperience of the team, the failure of the Jaguar and issues with Atari caused the game to be cancelled.
The Island of Dr Moreau was a game previewed in 1997 Italian mags, an adventure in development by Haiku studios for PC and PSX.
A mix of Myst with FMVs and real time sequences and a possible tie-in with the movie, it was quietly cancelled and the studio disbanded soon after.
Right from the artwork, the influence on Out Run is pretty clear. The September Wind album (1982) by Naoya Matsuoka would strongly influence the flavour of Sega's classic arcade racer, along with the classic wind sounds and jazz fusion soundtrack.
Apocalypse, released on Amiga in 1994, had quite the complicated history. Announced in 1991, for Atari ST, the original team soon left and a new one was brought in by Virgin to finish.
The intro was also censored, as these "torture" pictures shown here never made the cut.
Breathless is a 1995 Amiga FPS developed by Italian studio Fields of Vision, it is often remembered for being one of the best looking titles on the home computer. It was developed in less than a year by a small team and got very positive reviews by most magazines.
