Continuing my early digital work, in 1996 I made one of the first images of an Earthlike 'exoplanet', Tau Bootis, which was widely published in the media. Carl Sagan took a special interest in this.
Here's a gouache painting from 1957 that I haven't shown before. Saturn, seen from its moon Rhea.
Another 70's painting, this time of the Horsehead Nebula. Thanks to Hubble we now have greatly more detailed pictures of this 'dark nebula', but I've shown it with foreground planets, one earthlike. #nebulas2019 #horsehead
