One of my very earliest space paintings: "Saturn from Dione' from 1952 (gouache).
So today is the Vernal Equinox - but I bet they didn't see anything like this at Stonehenge!
A 'space station' painted as an advertisement for some electronic components. This was quite some years ago, and I suspect that all this could now be replaced by something the size of a postage stamp!
There were 'UFOs' long before today's, now often thought to be alien craft. In 1897 there were reports of dark airships, with lights, which were seen at night. This is a painting I did for a series of articles in 'Space Voyager' magazine in 1984.
This my biggest commission, in 1972: 24ft x 8ft mural at Askers Hotel, Dorchester, Dorset. First I scaled up the small version at the top.
This large acrylic painting is entitled 'Portals to Infinity'. For the full story, go to: https://t.co/cWjddkCkJp
A quick sneak peek at my latest cover, FRANCHISE, for the excellent Elsewhen Press; for more details and cover with title and text see their page.
A watercolour of a golden eagle that I painted in 1952, when I was 16. I didn't only paint space even then, but my first space art was published that year!!
'Mountain of Mystery' (below): In daylight the pyramid, carved from a mountain, shows a blank white face. It is only on a certain night of the year, when a UV source rises, that this map of their solar system fluoresces and becomes visible.
I've noticed that my painting 'Mountain of Mystery' (from 'Galactic Tours') is being posted in a rather nasty greenish colour. Presumably this was taken from one of those so-called 'sharing' sites, such as Pinterest. . . Here is how it should look.
