Often used as a criticism of Wolfe's ability to write female characters, but her tragic nature & constant objectification is a reminder of Severians warped view of women. Also written as a deconstruction of fan-service characters. Only Jonas' love for her is genuine.

I've also been looking to the work Makoto Kobayashi (Top Left- Dragon's Heaven), Kow Yokoyama (Top Right, Xanadu), Yasushi Nirasawa (Bottom Left) and Yoshitaka Amano (Bottom Right-- Severian from Book of the New Sun) a lot for design inspiration.
