@LunaRyuko @jazzmickle Now the biggie... bounding spheres are used to calculate object culling. If you have a wide sphere the object gets included in the maths way more, even if it is technically hidden behind something else.

See this statue is considered waaaaay wider than it actually is.

So I sat down to paint yhis Citadel Dragon Ogre from the 80s, and got vivid memories of painting the one I had the month it first came out (relese pic shown right). Right down to seeing the paint soaking into the chainmail.

Beautiful art. But having spent the last 20 years making 3d models from drawings it bugs me he couldn't lift his arms in that armour. Even if it hinged, it would ride up, stabbing him in the ear whenever he punched or pointed commandingly.

Fun fantasy film fact: Hassam in Sinbad and The Eye of The Tiger was played by Nadim Sawalha.
His daughter is Julia Sawalha of Ab Fab/Press Gang/Pride and Prejudice fame. Nadim also shows up in two bond films and Space 1999 among his 100 screen roles.
