In the hazy summer of 2018, I, a shoujo manga reader who watches about 1.5 anime series a year, was tricked twice by anime adaptations & had to learn that
1, Shoujo Kageki Revue Starlight by Kinema Citrus =/= josei manga series Kageki Shoujo!! by Saiki Kumiko ❌

Kageki Shoujo!! volume 7 and a massive two-volumes-in-one Season Zero - containing the earlier Shueisha/Jump X volumes plus extras - came out on March 5. Saiki Kumiko’s series has been praised by shoujo manga icon Ikeda Riyoko herself, as well as by Chihayafuru’s Suetsugu Yuki.

The Shoujo Kageki Revue Starlight franchise might have stolen its spotlight last year. But Takarazuka fans, don't miss Saiki Kumiko’s fabulous series Kageki Shoujo!! It's running in josei manga magazine Melody after it originally debuted in now-defunct JUMP X in 2012 🌹🎶

Vol. 11 went on sale Feb 25.
Margaret #7 with the main story finale out now (3/5).
3 spin-offs (3 parts of 1 spin-off?) to run in Margaret starting in #9 out Apr 5.

Enchanting Kaguyahime herself is on the cover of Saitō Chiho’s Kaguyaden 2, out March 8. A young woman pretends to be a man in the emperor's guards to solve the mystery of her brother’s gruesome death. Supernatural suspense & gorgeous Heian court scenes; one of my current faves!

Ribon #4 celebrates the 20th pro anniversary of its hit artist Maki Yōko with her series Kirameki no Lion Boy on the cover and a calendar + pouch supplement. "Girl crush" pop idol series Kimi to Yume Miru Hitsuji by Yuzuki Utano & talent agency Horipro also starts in this issue.
