The "big 3" shoujo manga magazines for very young readers come out on Friday so let's see what we get this month. Ciao has its hit series 12-sai/Age 12 by Maita Nao on the cover & featured on a calendar; the new 'Sotsugyou' arc starts in this issue and comic vol. 16 is out now.

Yamada Nanpei is known for titles like the tea fantasy (!) hit series Kōcha Ōji (25 vols.), Sorairo Kaigan and Orange Chocolate. With her latest series Kiniro no Mabinogion, Yamada herself has adapted the tales of King Arthur so she’s a perfect fit for the job!

Nakahara Aya (Lovely Complex, DameKoi/Please Love Me) will return in Cocohana #5 out 3/28, with romantic comedy Otonanajimi about 2 people who've been friends for 24 years until... 💖? And Kusumoto Maki's 35th pro anniversary will be celebrated with the reprint of a rare story!

And the comeback we've been waiting for: Hagio Moto's Poe no Ichizoku Unicorn returns with Edgar and Allan in the London of 1976 - in the May issue of Flowers (out March 28) 🎠 Flowers #5 will also feature irregular series Suisōyakyoku by Izumi Kaneyoshi (Joō no Hana, Cold Game).

Koi to Dangan's plot sounds pretty similar to Noda Ayako's much less trashy Sennen - Latent Heat 🔥 about university student Ruri who falls in love with a yakuza ojisan. The 3-vol. series ran in now defunct Hibana (💔). You might know Noda Ayako as BL manga artist Arai Niboshiko.

Trashy romance time! 🔥 Mino Nozomi's Koi to Dangan - Dangerous Lover is a Cheese! series with 1.2m downloads even before the vol. 1 print edition went on sale today. Dirty details: Yuri is saved from danger by an even more dangerous man - a yakuza who soon becomes her lover! 🌡️

Season 3 of Suetsugu Yuki's Chihayafuru was originally scheduled to premiere in April. Chihaya herself is apologizing for the delay of the anime TV series 👇 It will now start in October - the perfect season to snuggle up under a warm blanket. Main cast & staff remain the same.

Caught another shōjo/josei manga version of the thieving gentleman's escapades:
🎩 Lupin Étude is a series by Iwasaki Yōko that's running in Princess GOLD (digital only). Volume 3 of the comic came out a week ago. Like Saitō Chiho's version, it's based on the stories by Leblanc.

D.N.ANGEL news round-up: the print edition of vol. 16 will come with ASUKA #5 (out 3/23). At Animate, it will come with an extra dust jacket. In 2020, the series by Sugisaki Yukiru will also be getting a Complete Edition in large A5 format with new cover art and color pages!
