Out today: the May issue of fantasy shoujo manga magazine ASUKA with Samamiya Akaza's Ballad Opera on the cover. It comes with the latest volume (#16) of Sugisaki Yukiru's D.N.ANGEL - the only way to obtain the print edition atm! (The digital edition was released in February.)

LRT Fantastic license announcement from Akata! Komura Ayumi’s Kami-sama no Ekohiiki/🇫🇷 Bless You ran in Margaret (2017-18) where it stuck out with its unique mix of fantasy, body/gender switch & BL elements. Kinda felt like a ASUKA series to me, incl. a slightly annoying mascot💧

Well, with this cover for the mainstory finale of Yamamori Mika's Tsubaki-chō Lonely Planet it's not hard to guess what Fumi's answer to Akatsuki's proposal is 💒 Margaret #8 comes w/ 2 Kimetsu no Yaiba clearfiles & an anime special. Hiro Chihiro will illustrate the cover for #9.

The Spring issue of Ribon Special is out today, with cute & fluffy short stories for young shōjo manga readers. Ribon titles with a side story in this issue are hit series Honey Lemon Soda by Murata Mayu & Kinoshita Honoka's Hatsukoi to Taiyō (on the cover; comic vol.2 out 3/25).

Vols 1-3 of Yamakawa Aiji's Stand Up! are also out in Italian via Flashbook. I don't know if they plan to publish the last volume which came out last year in Japan after a 3-yr hiatus.

"Kieta Hatsukoi" with art by Aruko & story by Hinekure Wataru will be a love triangle between 3 senior high students. Hinekure Wataru has only been active online so far (mainly BL; https://t.co/fCI9J6lc2s). Looks like quite the career push for a newcomer! 🚀

Another Betsuma artist is coming back this spring: Aruko!🤩 The creator of sibling comedy Yasuko to Kenji, several melancholic oneshot collections & hit series Ore Monogatari!! with Kawahara Kazune starts her new series, a Hinekure Wataru collaboration, in Betsuma #7 (out 6/13).

Meguro Amu's Honey (So Sweet) is still my go-to recommendation for fluffy mainstream romance shoujo manga. Disarmingly cute & delightfully awkward. All 8 volumes are out in English via Viz!🍯 I never warmed up to Te o Tsunagou yo, really looking forward to Hinata no Blue, though!
