Matsuura Daruma (Kasane) contributed cover art for a Sarah Waters novel, Amano Akira (Katekyō Hitman Reborn!) for Barry Lyga. The remaining 2 are the only covers done by male manga artists: Sanbe Kei (Erased) for Edogawa Ranpo & Fujita Kazuhiro (Karakuri Circus) for Ray Bradbury.

The artwork for Daphne du Maurier's My Cousin Rachel is by Yamanaka Hiko (Ōjisama to Haiiro no Hibi/The Prince in His Dark Days) while Yamazaki Kore (Ancient Magus’ Bride, Frau Faust) created the cover for fantasy novel Yoru no Shahonshi by Inuishi Tomoko.

Tokyo Sogensha is celebrating the 60th anniversary of its paperbacks with 10 limited edition covers illustrated by manga artists! My fave: Kuze Banko’s cover for Agatha Christie’s Murder on the Orient Express 🚂🗡️ Tanemura Arina's Arsène Lupin is a shoujo manga dream come true 🎩

Lots of familiar faces for fans of fantasy & otome game-inspired shōjo manga in LaLaDX #3: the ‘memories’ arc of Hino Matsuri’s long-running Vampire Knight, a mini artbook for La Corda d'Oro Daigakusei-hen, an Idolish7 one-shot + the medieval fantasy hit series Itsuwari no Freja.

Betsuma #3 has the class of Koi o Shiranai Bokutachi wa on the cover & comes with a cute Furifura notebook. Also includes Kawahara Kazune’s Shogakukan Manga Award-winning Suteki na Kareshi. In the next issue (out 3/13): the return of the Kimi ni Todoke - Unmei no Hito spin-off!!

Shogakukan has finally released the cover artwork for Hagio Moto’s Poe no Ichizoku Premium Edition 1+2, out on Feb 26. They're part of Flowers Comics’ celebrations for her 50th pro anniversary, followed on March 26 by a re-edition of Hagio Moto Space Wonder 11-nin iru! from 1986.

If people insist on classifying this as shounen then yes BEASTARS is the only on-going shounen manga I'm buying. It’s the animal version of a human drama about discrimination, fear, hope. It has style & it has Legosi 🐺 To make my ramblings more relevant: vol. 12 is out tomorrow.

Yamamori Mika is right on schedule: Tsubaki-chō Lonely Planet is nearing its finale in Margaret 7 out 3/5. Vol.13 (last) on sale March 25.

Her usual artistic focus is everything gothic lolita so this is a perfect fit: Mihara Mitsukazu did this promo illustration for The Favourite by Yorgos Lanthimos 🌹👑 The 10-time Oscar nominated film opens in Japan on February 15.
