Toshihiro Kawamoto is quite famous for his attractive designs and Animation Direction, this episode being no exception across the board.
Eva is self explanatory, both original and rebuild bring something different to the table and rebuild really solidified it's reason for existing with the final 2 movies imo. A different path for the characters with a brand new ending which I enjoyed watching from beginning to end
The infamous examples of anime diverging or taking an alternate route and flopping are always what come to mind (even FMA here is largely debated) but I love seeing a different vision. Main thing that sparked this thread was Fate and Emiya's character in specific between UBW/HF.
I'm a real sucker for alternate takes in anime/manga if done right. There's something about seeing the same character or cast develop in ways that are different yet make sense for the circumstance unique to their story that is fascinating to see.
Tamen de Gushi is one of the cutest series I've ever read. Instant recommendation for anyone who wants a wholesome manga with some yuri (and some occasional yaoi) to heal the soul. An all time favorite of mine.
