@tinybirbsakuga he looks SO GOOD in this cartoon
norm mccabe swings into 1943 with CONFUSIONS OF A NUTZY SPY, probably one of my favorite propaganda cartoons (at least by him.) this would be the last year with black and white cartoons as the looney tunes series gradually switched to color
here’s a comparison. i kinda wish they kept the vase gag, but still absolutely hilarious nonetheless
meanwhile, clampett was experimenting more with daffy, and porky was getting sidelined into more arbitrary roles, such as the judge in THE HENPECKED DUCK. a highly entertaining cartoon that has some pretty moody shots. daffy is much more subdued in comparison to previous shorts
@loopa23 oh man i’ve drawn so much camp lazlo stuff it’s hard to tell! was it this maybe?
and yes i know this thread is about porky but can i just say i LOVE daffy’s voice here. ...YES.
i always love to see the #visiblewomen tag trending! i’m eliza, a cartoonist who loves drawing screwball ducks with lisps
since fanboy and chum chum has risen out of the dead i present to you these edits i made last year
storyboards for clampett’s PORKY’S PARTY (1938) show gabby and petunia starring alongside porky instead of the penguin and goose. clampett would adopt petunia from frank tashlin, redesigning her to be cute instead of sexy. interesting to see his take on tashlin’s petunia.
