I enjoyed the research into this and especially the idea that the Grimms included a few fairy tales of this type in their collection because it spoke to their strong feelings about family loyalty and connectedness through adversity and separation.

I always love painting Star Wars art, especially when there's a new movie. This was a present for a very dear friend who introduced me to the 'Star Wars: The Clone Wars' animated series, which I am enjoying immensely!

I had a lot of fun rewatching The Storyteller, learning what a violin really looks like and of course painting beautiful, vaguely threatening, watery women!

There's a hint of gold that doesn't show up in the scan - have a look at this pic to see it!

My reimagining of a scene in 'Fearnot', from Jim Henson's 'The Story Teller', which in its turn is a retelling of the Grimms' fairy tale 'The Story of the Youth Who Went Forth to Learn What Fear Was.'

I've learned a lot about different art styles this year! Finally getting back into some watercolours at the moment though and loving it.

It's been a few years since I did any Star Wars art and I hope I've improved in the meantime!
