A Mr Noy once strayed into fairy land and was saved by his former sweetheart, Grace, who had been abducted years earlier and who he thought had died. She explained the fairies left a 'stock' (figure), which was buried as her, while she was taken to work for them.

Swan Maiden illustration from last week process video 😊

Posting all those bird people paintings the other day made me want to paint another swan maiden, so here she is!

I wrote a swan maiden story a few years ago that's a bit darker than my usual fairy tales. I think this is the year to polish it up and try to find a home for it.

One of my first digital art commissions - this peaceful lass will be on the cover of a workbook for a workshop by Crusoeden Body to be run later in the year ❤️

People turning into birds (especially swans - and always black swans of course!) and birds turning into people are some of my favourite folklore and fairy tale themes 😍 clearly something I need to explore more in digital art!
