Today's #MerMay is thanks to a prompt from my darling sibling @Spike_o_o, who suggested a mermaid helping with ecology fieldwork. I am always getting photos of bandicoots from Spike's fieldwork, which I love, and it's only a short jump from a bandicoot to an octopus, really!
First day of #mermay! What kind of mermaids would you like to see from me this month? So far I've had requests for space mermaids and marine biologist mermaids - thanks @Spike_o_o and @clothedvillainy!
In the meantime, this is not-quite-a-mermaid, but who doesn't love selkies?!
'Another sleepless night'. I should really use more reference pics when drawing...

Baobhan sith, an unseelie wight from Celtic folklore. Likes to lure young men into the forest to dance with her, and when they're exhausted, drain their blood...
Revisiting my old watercolour illustrations made me want to try a digital one!

Hello #VisibleWomen!
I'm Erin-Claire, I retell (through painting and writing!) fairy tales and folklore. I'm new to digital art but have been painting in watercolours for over ten years. My portfolio is at https://t.co/R7hs0X0xQl
Every few months I try experimenting with a more sketchy style where the texture comes from linework rather than painting, then I remember that I hate it 🤷♀️😂 anyway, I'm going to start sharing more art that I love and will share some from artists who do this amazingly!
Ooooh baobhan sith are one of my favourites! I painted these for an exhibition of dangerous creatures from Celtic folklore a few years back. https://t.co/IHN4nUAumG
Reaching vine.
