Started reading Chitose Is in the Ramune Bottle. Damn, I did not expect to be hit with this much truth.
The Decagon House Murders is written by the same guy who wrote Another, a novel which became a very cheesy horror anime.
Decagon is an absolutely fantastic mystery novel which inspired things like Zaregoto and Danganronpa. Now I feel like I gotta give Another a proper chance...!
The Ryuo’s Work Is Never Done is such an underrated series among English readers.
It never stopped being a BookWalker exclusive title, plus the subject matter is alienating and the anime was mid... But it's nevertheless one of the best-written light novels.
"Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation" by MXTX
This author has a reputation for emotional subtlety, and I'm glad to see it was earned. The prose is very matter-of-fact but in the cracks you can feel the heat of very intense emotions, much like the deuteragonist Lan Wangji.
Magistellus and Berserk of Gluttony also got the boot. Thanks, everyone! That addresses everything I was on the fence about.
Crowdsourced anti-recommendations seems to be an efficient way of putting together a to-read/watch list. Gotta keep this in mind for the future 😆
There's No Way a Side Character Like Me Could Be Popular, Right? and The Girl I Saved on the Train Turned Out to Be My Childhood Friend have been kicked off the wish list. Thanks for saving me a few dollarinos, Twitter!
"Secrets of the Silent Witch" by Matsuri Isora
This is one of the best web novel -> light novel transitions. This book is perfectly satisfying as a standalone adventure. Only a couple instances of repeated explanations, but it's got a tight narrative structure
Accel World volume 5: I was kinda rushing through this volume to get to get to Secrets of the Silent Witch, but I enjoyed the subplot with Sky Raker and how she gets to finally fly. Fuko best girl.
