Unlike most isekai manga, this is not a wish-fulfillment harem story. This is a love-letter to the FF series, filled with cool references and nods but also a lot of creativity and passion. I recommend this manga to anyone who ever liked playing a Final Fantasy game!
Final Fantasy Lost Stranger is one of the best "isekai" I read in years! It's up there with Drifters. The protagonist is not an overpowered asshole with a harem. It's basically an exciting adventure in a Final Fantasy-like world with its own original characters and elements.
Even though it was developed in the west, this is one of those few games that manages to bring out that distinct Japanese charm to their game. I would love to play the games made by YummyYummyTummy.
Might as well take the opportunity to mention M-1. It was kind of an odd idea to begin with, but it was surprisingly hilarious when I last watched. I haven't followed it for a long time because I felt it would eventually worn out. I don't even know if it's still a thing...
@GeneralDoPanda Nah! That's not Suika at all! Suika is more like:
"Ha! Ha! A strong opponent! I will arrogantly lick my lips as the vicious and violent monster I am, as I savor this delicious feast with my fists!"
Taking everything into account, I would say Fantasy Kaleidoscope is the best Touhou fan-anime, IMO. But there's a series for every taste. If you want a slice-of-life with more fan-service, Summer Day's Dream is the best at that. It's like: Suddenly, Patchouli's bath scene...😊
...This anime focus on interactions between fan-favorites characters, which are portrayed in a more comical way, with many fan interpretations being used, like Remilia being childish, Kaguya being a hikikomori gamer...
One of the most infamous and mysterious Touhou anime is Summer Day's Dream. No one knows how the group Maikaze got the budget or connections to hire their all-star voice-cast. It's also notorious for its poor animation, but it drastically improves from episode 2 onward...
Unfortunately, I've lost the file I had for the very first Touhou anime ever thanks to a HDD's death. But I remember it was barely animated, just a bunch of talking heads with minimal lip animations. (images not related).
Oh No! Jiro is slowly turning into Orochi! The weakest SNK boss ever!
