A quiet day for birds on the Newcastle moors, though Jackdaws and young Starlings learning their trade catching grubs and flies amongst the cows and cow pats are always a good watch, watercolour sketch. Have a good night all 👍

Elsdon moors the other day ( icicles still in the bog pools !) maybe 2 pair of Curlew, a scattering of Red grouse - not a managed Grouse moor so not overrun which is good! Small bird populations were decent but sadly larger birds depleted in numbers. Have a good night all 👍

A distant mournful short warble on the Northumberland moors a few weeks ago, was tantalising evidence of a Ring Ouzel. I had no sight of the bird, which may have been heading further north, as very rare breeders in the county, watercolour sketch. Have a good night all 👍
