At last a bit more time for nature and art 👍Some long tailed tits in the garden today
A not very seasonal bird but plenty of Christmassy colours in the Lapwings plumage ! best Xmas wishes to all 👍🍺
An early morning wander on the Newcastle Town/Nuns/Dukes moors in search of Woodcock coming in with the cold spell, but not much about, just a scattering of winter Thrush & usual suspects, watercolour sketches.
Trying something different, to try and tell more of a story in the art, with this fox and partridge watercolour, dredged up from the mind. On me hols now so more arty time ! Many thanks all for the feedback and I hope your time off is here now or soon, take care all 👍
It’s nearly that time again, so getting some practice in ! Hoping it’s a good Waxy year and that I see a few this time, watercolour sketch using direct brush method. Have a good week all, thank you for interest in the art 👍
Bar tailed Godwit studied at a sultry Cresswell on Friday, one of a few, watercolour sketch - still persevering with direct brush method so always hit and miss for me !
Hearing the Brent Geese are back up by Holy Island and Budle bay (thousands of pale bellied BG) so time for my annual attempt to paint them🤔, oils on paper- the rock position is not compositionally ideal but cunningly conceals a botched goose🙄Have a great weekend all🙂
Golden Plover studied at Newbiggin at the weekend, painted in watercolour. A stunning bird in the lowering late summer light ,spangled in gold and soft and rich browns
Lovely start to the day with a very close ( but socially distanced) Goldfinch finding plenty aphids on the plum tree in the garden, watercolour sketch. Have a great Sunday 👍
Impressionistic Watercolour sketch tonight, inspired by #Springwatch footage of Long eared Owls. I have only seen this bird once, with my brother in a little spinney up by lonely Elsdon gibbet , I was only about 9 - a very long time ago - in fact the spinney has disappeared !
