Dipper and flooded river Tyne, in watercolour. Think I will have to come back to this one due to the wacky water line! Quite a fresh image I feel but when done quite quickly from memory, always a danger that some details are wrong. Have a great day all, thank you for feedback 👍
The old Alcan site in the background gives my new “low carbon” birding site (just half hour up the road) a strange beauty, and it seems a good site for feeding birds. Watercolour sketch, #paintseptember Thanks very much for feedback have a great week all 👍
“The mud gatherers “ watercolour, #paintseptember , missing their squidgy chirrup call already ( maybe they call when their mouth is full of mud 🤔😀) !
Nice afternoon and lovely weather at Cresswell watching the foraging oystercatchers, they always seem to me to have the look of the dodgy penguin “Feathers McGraw “ in Wallace & Gromit , unless it’s my dodgy watercolours! Have a great weekend all 👍
Grounded on my week off when a sneeze put my back out ! Should be ok to get out for some inspiration next few days though, meanwhile I dreamt up this watercolour portrait of a young Cheviot Raven which kept me occupied 👍
Arctic terns by the long nanny, Beadnell, a nationally important colony, along with little terns, a gruelling 6 hrs at the easel, Alas unfinished -such is the lot of a weekend painter ! Just as well as the blood red beaks would smudge. Have a good week all 👍
At last a spell at the easel and a favourite subject, curlew’s & Bamburgh castle, oil on paper, done over 3 hours, wet on a previous dry oil sketch. Thank you for the feedback and have a great night all 👍
Starlings everywhere !! As far as I can ever remember, the young starlings always explode into the world during this exact week of spring, bringing a nice bit of chaos to the gardens, watercolour sketch
Blackcap watercolour study done today, they are more common I think up north these days, as an avid young birder in the seventies I never saw them. Thank you for the feedback and have a good night all 👍
First Chiffchaff for me this year, Nuns moor Newcastle, same spot, same day as last year, remembering our brother Mick, 14/02/60 - 24/03/18, who loved the moors
