Wheatear ,Town moor Newcastle today, Flitting around the area 800 metres north of Cowhill, watercolour sketch at home. Always get the odd one or two passing through at Springtime, lovely to see. Many thanks for r/t‘s , likes & comments, much appreciated
A quick watercolour contribution tonight to @projectgodwit #ohmygodwits a fascinating bird !
A bit of lockdown watercolour sketching #DrawABirdDay for World Curlew day , April 21st . Hope all are okay,- sketching is a great activity to take your mind off things
Swallow ! 3.28 pm Newcastle upon Tyne (Gosforth) a single bird flying fast and direct Nth west, a symbol of hope if there ever was ! Early record for me - had an inkling the warm southerlies would bring some in👍 w/c sketch after staking out the garden most of the day !
Got a sky in today, lowered the near distant hills to highlight that lovely beak, which I hope works ? - See before & after, also a W/colour doodle - just love the Curlew ! Have as good weekend as possible all, in difficult & strange times, take care
Missing getting out on the moors, - at least I can dream that I’m there in a painting. A bit time on my hands so back on the oils (on paper). I think my brother, who does a bit stonewalling, would balk at my wall! My excuse is it‘s an old Roman one 😉Hope everyone is coping 👍
Was really looking forward to surveying the Northumberland Curlews this Spring, just have to hope that a silver lining might be a good breeding year with the moors being undisturbed, watercolour sketch. Take care all #curlew
First Chiffchaff for me this year, Nun‘s moor Newcastle, a day later than last year, on the day’s walk. The familiar jaunty call lifting the worry. Hope all well - try and get out amongst nature, it can really help, take care
A quick and a bit messy sketch done last night, inspired from #Winterwatch , the lovely Black Grouse or should it be Blue Grouse, such a stunning bird. Have a good night all 👍
I often despair over watercolour, but sometimes rejoice - this started as a Curlew 🤔 but then an Eider emerged! Calling it “Eider on an icy sea” 😉 It tells me best results when subconscious takes over, just let paint wander. Many thanks for the feedback, have a good night all👍
