@Zhane_Star inspired me to create a design for Rouge the Bat's mother 😇.
Like mother, like daughter, Azura has ties with the government and capitalizes on her looks. To her, diamonds are a girl's best friend. She's not the best fit for a mother, but she tries.
They prove that criticism against the poor is well founded because nothing stops them from being better (they have no excuse) but also only applicable to particulars (meaning that again, not every design created for Archie Sonic was "bad" or uninspiring). Like them or hate them.
Fact: Archie Sonic had copy-paste and awful designs
Fiction: All Archie Sonic designs were bad, cookie cutter, or copy-pastes
Bad existing doesn't negate the good and vice versa. Since we clearly went through the bad and poor, let's talk about the memorable designs and glow-ups.
Examples of poor and lazy designs that are just official main character models with excess, superfluous addends that only narrowly stay afloat with the low-bar excuse of blood or species "relation":
Since people don't seem to get it...
Examples of decent to good character design despite notable similarities and blood or species relation (featuring Archie and Sonic SatAm):
Also, here's a clear difference: Ken Penders is using character models that are not his in anyway as a cookie cutter for his characters. Sonic Team creates character designs from the ground up, documenting their development and applying actual fundamentals of design. https://t.co/ADB44NOS4m
If you bald characters like classic Amy and put her besides Sonic, you'll still not get it to be 1-on-1 because there are fundamental differences. If you put Locke next to Knuckles and Sonic next to Rob'O then strip or silhouette them, they will be identical.
Just look at them.
For the bozos out here who haven't picked up a pencil a day in their lives let alone know even half of the basic fundamentals of character design yet decided to open their mouths and downplay designs just to be a stalkerish whiteknight for a writer over mere critique and opinion: https://t.co/GGehts9mns
"They had more diversity"
Psyco: Let me show you how they didn't by citing diverse examples of characters with different body types, sizes, details, colors, and facial structure (only sharing basic similarities) yet somehow act like they're the same with Knuckles A and Knuckles B
