They're doing the unique, dominant, and distinct character color associations for hair dye color. They name the hair dye after the character that most iconically models it. It is not inherently their "furs" or means those colors are their "hair color".

Purple is an ideal and popular hair color dye. If they did white like her fur, that would be straight up bleach in a box.
