While looking for a manga page I stumbled across someone trying to use Levi saying This to "prove" he cares about "more than JUST his promise"... but they somehow managed to miss the "I DON'T CARE EITHER WAY" part 🥴🥴 ok THREAD about how Levi is still dead-set on his promise:

The way Levi's facial expressions in this arc are such a complete departure from the cold, fierce look on his face normally. He looks so vulnerable and emotional and raw and I love it.

and then Levi has like 50 moments afterwards where he's like "AND THEN I REALIZED" because he keeps pushing his feelings down and denying them to himself and then being slapped across the face with them again lmfao what an idiot

This is literally THE moment that he started to realize. The manga panel actually emphasizes his eyes like this when Erwin is mentioned.

Levi OBVIOUSLY just got super crabby out of nowhere because he's pissed Erwin doesn't value his own life and Levi almost lost him 😭 He's worrying, even in the middle of the Rod Reiss operation, at the same time he's bitching at Erwin 😭

I don't think Eren particularly cares to be vulnerable with others, and not because he fears it. He just doesn't seem to be invested in/desiring that genuine connection. However, Eren does fear powerlessness & fears insignificance. So both type 8 & 4 could accurately describe him

Erwin also clearly places a massive amount of trust in Levi and relies on him a lot, and Levi doesn't take it lightly. In fact it's not only the idea of those deaths being meaningless, but the full reality of Levi disappointing/failing Erwin that would devastate Levi so.
