It's also wild because the Byrne retcon is then almost immediately soft retconned out as soon as his run is over. In FF #307, Sue, Ben, and Reed are described as "three college friends." But people were clearly already really attached to the Byrne retcon (why). https://t.co/mYKhHdOA4u

We talked the other day about the sheer romance of both Johnny and Felicia knowing they used to know Spider-Man's face even when their memories were wiped, but we haven't talked enough about them both knowing Ben Reilly isn't Peter, in or out of the suit.

The "you are more beautiful than anyone has ever been able to describe" line from today's The Thing #4 reminded me of one of my favorite Silver Surfer AND Spider-Man scenes, from Silver Surfer Requiem #2.
