Finally, (as if that wasn`t enough already) I jumped back in & animated more sequences in the second half of the episode.
Specifically, I animated Kaido`s first attack, kicking off all the crazy action that continues throughout the rest of the episode.

On top of storyboarding, I also animated a LOT for One Piece 1017. Almost exactly 2 minutes’ worth.
First, I animated Kid`s transformation sequence. Kid hasn`t gotten the spotlight some other characters have in One Piece, so I hope fans feel like I gave him a moment to shine.

それからカイドウが最初に攻撃するシーンの原画を描きました。
カイドウを描くのはいつもとても楽しいです。

この攻撃で、終わらないアクションシーンが始まる。

１０１７話にこんなにたくさん参加出来て光栄です。

ワンピース１０１７話は絵コンテだけじゃなくて原画も描きました。
キッドの変身シーンを描きました。シリーズの中で彼は戦闘シーンが少ないと思いますので、出来る限り彼の為にかっこいい映像を見せたかった。
キッドのファン達が「おお！これは大好きなキッド！」と感じてくれたら嬉しいです。

3/3 But I buried the lead. The coolest opening I got to work on was Tokyo Ghoul OP #1. (Yes, that super famous one) The final sequence had hundreds of drawings and the whole douga-team broke it up into small sections and passed it out. A team effort.

2/3 Back during my time at Studio Pierrot I worked (just a little) as douga-man for the following:
-Naruto Shippuden ED 31, 32, 33
-Babysteps S2 OP
-Akatsuki no Yona OP
(I can`t remember which images I cleaned for Shippuden ED 33.😅 It was a few of the stills as they flashed by.)

I animated Kaido`s big attack in One Piece 1003. I`m pretty sure this was totally uncorrected so what I drew is what you got.😁Congrats to episode director Michibata-san for use of color & an overall great episode.

I drew Layouts, Key animation, & even a lot of douga (final clean-ups & in-betweens) for One Piece episode 995!
This was my debut episode since joining Toei Animation full-time, & undoubtedly the most ambitious animation sequences I`ve ever attempted.
I hope everyone enjoyed it!
