Wife finished reading through the Oden flashback in One Piece. Her thoughts:
Wano is probably the most exciting, well written arc in the series. It doesn't feel like a normal Shonen manga. Oden is so interesting he feels like the main character. "Can't wait to see what's next"

WCI arc: She`s been looking forward to Big Mom & thought her flashback was completely horrific. She was disappointed the story didn`t end though & Big Mom remains. Ton`s of fighting isn`t her thing so the Katakuri fight was "yea, a Shonen battle" to her.

Wife finished reading through Punk Hazard in One Piece.
She liked this one. The fights weren`t long which meant more time for fun character moments. Kids/drugs story was dark, but interesting. Monet was cool. Favorite scene was Kinemon & his "son" stuffing their faces at the end.

Wife finished reading the Fishman Island arc in One Piece. Her thoughts:
Luffy feeling responsibility to protect the island shows growth post time-skip. Shirahoshi isn`t her favorite but understands why she`d be popular. Really looking forward to Big mom after that ending.

Very sad to hear about Sonny Chiba’s passing.
Among other things I really love the “Wandering Ginza Butterfly 2” (銀蝶流れ者 牝猫博奕) film he starred in alongside Kaji Meiko.

Wife finished reading One Piece through the time-skip. Her thoughts:
Shocking & sad moments. Glad Luffy has a clearer back story now but still interested in secrets surrounding him. This really felt like the end of the first part of One Piece. Not sure where it`s going from here.

Wife finished reading the Impel Down arc in One Piece. Her thoughts:
Luffy/Bon Clay`s friendship is beautiful. Old enemies teaming up w/ Luffy was really interesting. When pressed, she said "I don`t know what Blackbeard is doing or why. What even is he?" Good answer I thought.

Wife finished reading One Piece through Amazon Lily & says:
Sabaody was upsetting. She loves Rayleigh & Shakky. The supernova she`s most interested in seeing more of is (surprisingly) Hawkins. She understands why Hancock is popular but "she kicked a cat which is unforgivable."

Wife finished reading through the Enies Lobby arc in the One Piece Manga. She says Robin`s flashback was probably the best flashback (I agree btw) & for the first time the "bigger story" is coming into view. Merry scene was of course sad & Franky is great. Garp`s also very cool.

Wife finished reading Nami`s arc in the One Piece manga.
As expected, she really liked this one & cried at the end when Genzo put the pinwheel on Bell-mere` grave. She said "I can`t believe Nami`s story was so sad and dark. I wasn`t expecting her to have had such a hard life."
