you can control him after your protag has done his vanilla romancing and he can scout women before intimidating them and turning them into his sexual slaves
and for a few heroines, this is necessary for progress
not only is it weird but they're disabled for the rest of the game

the system is a bit unintuitive at first but it's how you advance the relationship with the heroine and they're all pretty neat
(though tbqh i would rather hang out with the dudes because they're more interesting than the women lmao)
i wish there were more events tho

i very much enjoyed most of the game and would probably consider it one of the best srpgs if not for the final battle
but we'll talk about that later lol...
another interesting feature is the points system where you can both boost a character and make a heroine like you more

finished Mamatoto: A Record of War, a SRPG made by alicesoft (led by purin) and this was seriously a good game and i would recommend it quite easily if not for the uh obvious flaws
it follows a country stationed in a flying fortress called mamatoto that seeks for world peace

if you're interested in Atlach=Nacha and the little i have to say (it's too short to really offer much without just spoiling the game), i do recommend it
it's ... quite an impactful game esp for anyone familiar with yuri and class s stuff
easily one of the cooler historical reads

i don't know if i would recommend this game to most people but if you find anything of this intriguing, check it out
i love this game a lot and thinking about how it doesn't work lmao
perhaps a "broken toy" could be better than a "toy that works" sometimes

and even in this mess, there's some seriously impressive writing chops within the game
the tragic elements actually hurt and i was devastated by some of the more emotional scenes in the game
at the same time, it can suddenly become a funny game that will make me smile

but perhaps this is also why even the most standard story there is so memorable
no one's ever tried to tell a martial arts story in a dating sim route for example
in any other medium, it would be cliched
but in a dating sim, it wouldn't work and that's why it's refreshing

0 2

each aspect introduced is explored through dating sim gameplay mechanics and this is both the game's strength and weakness
it's hard to write stories with arcs split up into dating sim events and a few of the routes suffer from this serious pacing issue
