Sir John Middleton & his mother-in-law, Mrs. Jennings visit Barton Cottage. Watercolour. Illustration for Austen's Sense & Sensibility.
I've seen quite a few people expressing how much better traction/ engagement/ etc they get on Mastodon than on Twitter, and asking whether others do, too. And I'm like, 'LOL, no.'
Which isn't to say that it's better on Twitter for me. It's mostly lukewarm everywhere.
Episode 21 of the #ChasmoPodcast is here! We gave the whole episode to Alice B. Woodward's illustrations for H. Knipe's Evolution in time, published 1912. Hear me wax lyrical about a woman! Golden Age illustrator! Who drew dinosaurs! Stop me if you dare!

'My long and bubbling friend,' said the Djinn [of All Deserts], 'what's this I hear of your doing no work?'
Illustration for How the Camel got his Hump; Kipling's Just So Stories, Folio Society, 2013. Watercolour.
For today's #FairyTaleTuesday theme of Mountains & Deserts.
Brontësaurus. My not at all serious attempt to bridge my literary audience with my palaeoart one. Perhaps my only piece to have gone mildly viral through being reposted uncredited apparently everywhere.
