good morning #PortfolioDay ! i do character design, intermediate 3D modeling, and write stories. if you would like to whisk me away from IT to do one of these things, please hand a self-addressed stamped envelope to me, from the shadows, to begin the adventure
the texture is just slapped on paint from the reference but i'm going for a higher-ish res 3DS zelda look, just with a more proportional style of human person
tried new drawn eyelashes! the mesh is a single subdivided plane on a curve with a little simple deform in there somewhere
pulled the lashes out with the smear brush, it looks really cool
crashes through the wall #artistsontwitter
please talk to me about 3D and character design, and also my cat roscoe is here
left is what i was initially happy with, and right (with darker facial loops) is what i've gotten while noodling with the parts that didn't feel extremely good
the back loops still kind of suck but everything else feels nicer now
hey everyone should follow my other twitter @GoQuietGame because you COULD be listening to me complain about trying to figure out the narrative for go quiet!
✨arent you curious✨
modeling stuff at an angle is offensive to me personally so duplicating a linked mesh i can keep in perfect-ish orthographic is my signature move
(alt+d in blender!)
holding the arm out in front still looks a little strange but i've been focusing on different extremes, so i just have to fiddle with it a bit more
i have no idea what i'm doing, i just rigged the two individual parts of leg and then built the knee around how it was deforming
it's also a double jointed knee!
added transparency, made it 40% better
the other 60% comes from appropriately UVing the strands before use and not merging the "root" and "tip" into triangles because it throws off the hair flow https://t.co/knw9KlpYHe
