Tonight in games I didn't know about, but whos aesthetic I really love: Fleet Defender! Released for DOS in 1994, got some very pretty pixel cockpits and early textured polygonal airplanes!
@alexriesart I dunno, but I feel like these two would be pals. @simonroyart
@DanielDiggle Believe me, I know! Here's a few things from my reference folder for the project:
Found some old #shmup mockup assets I made back in 2006, and it's sorta re-kindled my love of unique and weird airplane designs...This combined with my late interest in #slipstream5000 might be percolating something new, side-project wise...
Further #pixelart retro-RTS rendering experiments - figured out how to make the lines cleaner, better coloring on a lot of stuff! Thinking I might move to terrain?
Done in 3ds MAX!
Weekend explorations in rendering 3dmodels as retro-#pixelart RTS buildings. Still using 3dsmax to do so, and I'm pretty happy with the results I'm seeing. Still want to get the panel lines rendering the right way. :/
Recently reminded of some low-poly doodles I've done in the past... sorta wanna do some sort of quick non-gameplay mockup in the style of the classic Bitmap Brothers "Z"...
@antonkudin @JaserdArt Their work is badass! And I'm sure it's totally coincidental but some of their stuff reminded me of some low-poly doodles I've done in the past. :P
