Which makes Executor a great protagonist in how he leads the story and is completely no-nonsense dealing with people. While everyone is debating Utilitarianism he sticks to his mission and the story is given a straight line to follow and refer back to.

You may think religion is a theme, but it's uncomplicated: If you're willing to hurt people because your personal apostasy is accompanied by nihilism, you lose any meaningful claim to the conversation.

Because if nothing matters, why value anything else people hold as important?

HDE is thankfully another quick read due to the simplicity of the story, but like similar events is constantly under threat of overwriting by referencing future events. Cutting off Aulus and Arturia would have made this into a tighter drama with nobody but themselves to blame.
