Since MOKF, Razor Fist has appeared in multiple other series as a general "quick the bad guy needs a henchman" character, so I can see why he's got the clout to get a movie appearance. But Zaran the Weaponmaster is certainly giving him a run for his money! Just look at this guy!
Now we enter The Crossover Era. Shang-Chi's story is finished for now, and until his next one begins he will appear for guest spots in other heroes' stories. Moon Knight is by Moench, and it continues the story of Brynocki. Daredevil even resurrects and fleshes out Ghostmaker!
I'll be honest, it took me a while to recognise the word "flick" in this lettering style...
Can't help but feel that was a very intentional sound effect choice, tbh
Finally, Shang-Chi has been put in the hands of Asian creative teams. THE LEGEND OF SHANG-CHI is a single issue tale that serves as an excellent introduction, and SHANG-CHI (2020) is the start of the new era of ongoing stories, featuring him taking over his father's organisation.
The first Shang-Chi story featured an all-star creative team, including Steve Englehart (co-creator of Star-Lord) and Jim Starlin (creator of Thanos). However, you may recognise the name of Fu Manchu, or notice the "featuring characters created by Sax Rohmer". What's that about?
Further simple brilliance here as everything, every line, works together to track your eye where it needs to be.
Tbf, Leiko Wu is dressed to impress this issue as well. Jim Craig on pencil duties, by the way.
