First up we've got some A.X.E. JUDGMENT DAY tie-ins. All four of which are written by @kierongillen. Either he's mad, omnipotent, or both. Put it this way, they're all on my pull list. This is gonna be the first Event I collect in issue format as opposed to buying the collection.
STAR WARS: VISIONS #1
TAKASHI OKAZAKI (W/A/C)
Nahhh, straight up, this will be a MUST. READ. Star Wars Visions was an excellent anthology, and The Ronin was a standout episode, so to see it get continued like this? MORE PLEASE. I want expansions on the episodes AND new stories.
STRANGE #6
JED MACKAY (W) • LEE GARBETT (A/C)
For some reason I expected STRANGE to be a miniseries. Delighted to see we're going to spend some more time with Clea in the spotlight. Except this issue it's the G.O.A.T. Wong who's getting the spotlight!! And look at that cover!
Here's a fun page from DAREDEVIL Vol. 6 #34
Notice how Matt's punch breaks through the panel border and into the next panel, hanging above Cole's head, invading his space. Cole feels small, trapped inside a panel with, strictly speaking, nobody else there to box him in.
YOSHITAKA AMANO BATMAN VARIANT COVER
THIS IS A REAL THING THAT EXISTS
SPIDER-PUNK #5 (OF 5)
CODY ZIGLAR (W) • JUSTIN MASON (A)
I've read the first 2 issues of this and it ain't a poser. This is about as punk as you can get from the most mainstream entertainment franchise on the planet at the minute. These incarnations of the characters are dope.
Recently read Captain America Vol. 9 and it was... fine? It had more to say about politics than it did about superheroes, but sometimes that's just the way of things. It did give us some truly gorgeous cover art by Alex Ross, including a chilling Red Skull. (best marvel villain?)
